Love in the City.

I am currently working an on-going cityscape series …. been painting and creating this for about 2 years now. One of the ways that I work towards this is painting these little 8X10″ flat canvas panels. Not only are they small, but easily portable, and storable. I can lay them all out, and draw ideas and colors from each of them as I begin and work on my larger pieces that are the finished result of all of these little guys, some painted in the studio and some painted en plein air. I find cities very interesting in that they are all so different, and the energy is never the same, yet has a common element. I painted this painting one night after my friend’s girls and I had a night picnic watching the skies and reflections change right before us….

Tip #1 on buying art

There are many things to consider when purchasing art, whether this is your first piece or you have an avid collection you have cherished for many years.  • You should love the art. Now I know what you are thinking…”Why would I want something I don’t love?” Some people make impulse decisions and they were never really truly in love with the piece. If you are buying an original, you are probably spending a few thousand dollars and will be living with the art for many years so think before your buy. Art may be a great financial investment, however the greatest return would be the daily joy you and your loved ones receive as you pass by it in your hallway or enjoy it in your family room. ~
